Nutmeg has had her first season and the question about when to have her spayed is being discussed.
Are there any recorded links between spaying affecting maturing joint growth plates that cause joint problems while young and arthritis later on?

This is a really tricky area and I think we need more studies….and now we have more lifetime studies being performed in different countries I think we will get more answers

What we do need to remember there are pros and cons to everything neutering you may prevent seasons, running off, risks of false pregnancies, pyometras etc but you may have more chances of cancers and joint disease…
There is certainly a little bit of choosing your potential demon here….
