This was Butchershole woods near Jevington in East Sussex.
Great place, free parking, but gate closes at 7. Lovely place to walk your older dog with lots to sniff about.
I’m in this area more and more now – can anyone point me to other good places to take Holly?

Cheers

Hi Hannah,

The Cuckoo Trail is quite flat and old dog friendly – it would be easy to push the trolley along too. 14 miles of surfaced path!

I quite like walking in Stanmer park in Falmer / Brighton, quite a bit of different terrain from grassland (some of it including cattle, so not so ideal if your dog is inclined to chasing…) to woodland. Particularly in summer it’s great that there is quite a bit of shade. There’s also a posh cafe / restaurant in Stanmer House and a tearoom in the village. At the moment it’s fairly muddy, but where isn’t it?! Only downside is that it can get quite busy on weekends…

Markstakes wood near South Chailey.  Really lovely ancient woodland which is soft underfoot with leaf mulch so perfect for an older dog.
