I’m hoping Gwen Covey-Crump will see this as well. I really need some help.
Coco is 11yrs old. She has arthritis (lumbago) in her back end but no massive damage or calcification on X-ray. But she’s in pain. Every pain killer or anti inflammatory we try gives her explosive bloody diarrhoea. Vet says nothing else we can do. Natural stuff Have tried (I’ve probably missed some things):
Acupuncture, massage, golden paste, cbd paste (cbd brothers made her puke), zyflammend, gelatine, nutravet nutraquin, laser, arc4health machine, omega oils, green lipped mussel, yumove,
Does anyone have any other ideas or know of a strong CBD I could try? Thank you
Hi. Caroline aka the spiritual dog trainer has just launched an edible CBD for dogs. Although I haven’t tried it yet (waiting to see orthopaedic specialist next week), I trust Caroline. She would not recommend or sell a product unless it was good.
i did previously bought CBD oil market for humans thinking it would be better but when it arrived, the label showed it contains sweeteners so not suitable for dogs. The website did not show that. Learning from my mistake
She has had SLO for over 9yrs. We have tried every conventional treatment which never gave us remission. We have seen holistic vets, homeopathic vet and conventional. Now I keep her stable with supplements, herbs and nail hardener. Shr is 11yrs old. She has been diagnosed with arthritis (lumbago) around her sacroiliac. No calcification or damage on X-ray. But she can’t tolerate anti inflammatories or pain killers. They give her bloody diarrhoea so we are stuck. I’ve tried glucosamine, chrondriton, yumove, Acupuncture, massage, golden paste, cbd paste (cbd brothers made her puke), zyflammend, gelatine, nutravet nutraquin +, laser, arc4health machine, omega oils, green lipped mussel, yumove etc nothing has helped so far. So thought I would try a different type of cbd. Ideally I want to get hold of cbd/cbda/thc but of course I’m in the UK so it’s impossible. Even my local vet says it would be good for her. I’m pretty desperate.
there are new drugs coming to market which I very exciting -galliprant has a UK licence now and works much further down the inflammatory pathway than NSAIDs so appears to have less side effects.
Also in US they are working with monoclonal antibodies targeting a specific inflammatory mediator that sensitises local receptors to interpret more pain.
But your mention of an autoimmune condition pricked up my ears – what is it? Definitely speak to Louise and you may find there is something that helps both x
Thank you for your input. We are near gatwick. I have seen Chris day, our holistic vet as well as our local vet. Sadly Coco can’t tolerate any anti inflammatories or pharma pain killers. I’ve tried so many alternative pain therapies but nothing really helps. Hence why I wanted to try the cbd again. She also had an autoimmune condition that’s shes had for over 9yrs that has never gone into remission. But I treat it holistically which keeps it from becoming too bad. I will look into having a phone consult with Louise or Gwen but I’m honestly not sure if they will have any other ideas but it’s worth a try. Thank you
