Can you tell the difference between arthritis and injury?

Is it possible to differentiate between arthritis and injury at home? I have a 10 year old female lab x Springer and she has developed a very mild limp in her front left leg in the last 2 weeks. I am unaware of any injury and I know she has some mild arthritis in her hips. I am resting her, but if I was able to confirm if it is arthritis, I would be able to allow her a bit more freedom to exercise. I don’t want her on cage rest if it is not going to help her. But I can’t afford a vet visit at the moment if it’s not going to help her. If she needs it, I will take her without hesitation, but don’t want to go to find out I just need to continue managing her arthritis as I have been. Thank you for any advice. It is appreciated.

Thank you. I suspected that it might require a vet visit, but was hoping otherwise. I will arrange an appointment to take her to the vet. I always notice things early in my dogs, even the vet struggles to find anything wrong sometimes, so hopefully it’s not too bad.
Thank you.
