Hi. My 8 year old lab has elbow dysplasia and arthritis, which is particularly bad to his 2 front paws. Was thinking of trying him with a padded boot or similar…anyone tried this?
I have a few patients that use boots as an anti-slip aid and also to protect the foot if they tend to scuff as they walk. It is very important that they fit well, as Kathryn says. Does he have arthritis in his toe joints themselves? Does he show a tendency to slip or trip on his front feet?
I know we tired a few at CAM and some were better than others! They need to fit well or they can slip and become a trip hazard.
Is it for padding you want them or for an anti-slip effect?
